Thanksgiving Across America

Presented by The Bridge to Liberty

Faith • Friendship • Gratitude

🍃 Two homelands. Shared faith. One Thanksgiving. 🍃
This year's Thanksgiving Across America has ended. Thank you to everyone who took part — we will see you next year!

The Bridge to Liberty is excited to introduce A Thanksgiving Across America, a special initiative designed to bring American families and newly arrived Afrikaner refugees together through the cherished American tradition of Thanksgiving.

Our goal is to provide Thanksgiving meals for 25 Afrikaner families across the United States while encouraging friendship, fellowship, and gratitude.

We recognize that many of our Afrikaner friends may not have American family members or neighbors with whom to celebrate Thanksgiving. Through our Network Neighbors program, we hope to change that.

Three Ways to Celebrate

🏡
Option 1

Thanksgiving at Home

$15 per person

Afrikaner families who would like to cook their own traditional American Thanksgiving dinner receive a grocery gift card worth $15 for every person in the family, sent by email as a digital gift card. It is the same amount in every state, and it helps buy the turkey, traditional side dishes, dessert, and beverages. We include a shopping list and a simple Thanksgiving guide. Need a pot or a roasting pan? A Network Neighbor can help.

For example: a family of four receives $60.

Option 2

Thanksgiving Made Easy

Up to $15 per person

No cookware needed. Families who prefer a ready-made Thanksgiving dinner will receive a grocery gift card worth the same $15 per person to use toward a fully cooked meal from a participating grocery store, such as a rotisserie turkey or chicken with ready-made sides, or a prepared holiday meal. Most need nothing more than a microwave. The meal can be picked up by the family or delivered with the help of a Network Neighbor.

Option 3

Thanksgiving With an American Family

$15 per guest

Registered American Network Neighbors can invite Afrikaner families into their homes to celebrate Thanksgiving together. The Bridge to Liberty sends the host a digital grocery gift card worth $15 for each Afrikaner guest being hosted. The host's own family is not counted.

For example: a Network Neighbor hosting one Afrikaner family of six would receive $90 toward Thanksgiving groceries.

This allows American families to share their hospitality without having to shoulder the entire financial expense.

How Families Participate

Afrikaner families must first register with The Bridge to Liberty. Registered families then sign in with their Bridge to Liberty number and password to choose their Thanksgiving option.

Network Neighbors who wish to host or assist with meal delivery will also have an opportunity to participate.

Our Mission

Thanksgiving is more than a meal. It is a time to thank God for His blessings, share what we have, and extend friendship to those around us.

Through A Thanksgiving Across America, we hope to create lasting relationships between American families and our new Afrikaner friends.

Two homelands. Shared faith. One Thanksgiving.

Our hope is to make A Thanksgiving Across America an annual tradition of The Bridge to Liberty.

The gift card amount is the same for every family in every state. Amounts are preliminary and subject to available funding. Hosts must be registered with The Bridge to Liberty to receive host groceries.
